Joanna like Hannah...

More pics for the previous POST

Nephi's Mom and Dad and brother Spencer, and a bunch of other friends came out to support him. We had donuts and chips and fresh salsa afterwords for a snack.
This picture to the left doesn't go along I know, but Jos sure looks cute. :)

There was a man in a wheelchair that finished the marathon, his arms looked pretty tired there at the end! What a goal! He did awesome! An example to us all that we can do HARD THINGS! :)

Nephi's Marathon!

Well, the time finally came! Nephi left here about five oclock to head up to the mountain to start his race. He was pretty anxious the night before. We had been carbo loading the days leading up--which was good for him, but probably not too good for me. ;)

The anticipation I felt walking up to the finish line to watch Nephi come in was so exciting! I love going to Marathon's. It's so inspiring, and fun to watch people come in. Daddy's goal was to come in at about 3 hours and 45 minutes...but he came in just after 3 hours and 30 minutes! Yay Dad! (Name that movie?) :) We are so proud of our Nephi! He is so wonderful, and works so hard in the things he aspires to do! He said he was blessed in that his knees didn't give him too much trouble, and he didn't have to go to the bathroom. That's always a blessing! The weather was beautiful, and he is feeling less sore today! :) The only mishap was that Jos got lost at the park....but after a quick little jaunt over to the "park" within the park, I soon found her. Good thing she loves parks, and didn't end up in the water...Angels really watch out for and help our little family all the time!

From the time we got home from the race...it was one of "those days" We were all really really tired, and Jos threw up later...but thankfully after that she felt better. An answer to prayer! One of the bright spots of the afternoon was that Joanna's glasses arrived in the mail! It was so fun to try them on her, and see her cuteness. She notices a difference I think, but doesn't really like having them on her face all the time. She looked SUPER cute at church yesterday...but alas I didn't get any pictures. Just of the other crazy night. But she still looks cute. :) We are striving to all endure well, and love one another and we are excited for this little brother to arrive in less than a month! :)

What we're up to...

Well, Jos is officially 19 months! She is getting to be so grown up! She can eat her cereal with a spoon, and drink the milk out at the end...(of course it doesn't all get in her mouth, but she does well considering. :) She has done pretty well in nursery. This ward doesn't have many kids at all, so I think that helps her feel more comfortable, you know, more attention, let craziness. :) She is like her Mommy.

We have been making new friends her in Logan, and in Aggie Village. Walks are nice times to get out as long as we don't get caught in the rain--but even that was sort of a fun adventure! We found out Jos is really far sighted, and so she needs glasses. I'm anxiously awaiting for those to arrive in the mail! :) We'll post pictures of that eventually I imagine.

What else? Daddy stays pretty busy these days...but not too busy to help with dishes and greet sweet Jos bear in the morning. Morning time with Daddy is one of Joanna's favorite times! She loves to play with the boggle, play in the sand, and "Mun" ("run") outside. :) Daddy is getting excited for his first Marathon on Saturday! Top of Utah! I'm hoping the weather is good, and that his knees hold up well for him. He is so talented!

Baby comes in about a month! Woohoo! I'm not sleeping real well at nights, but I can be patient a little longer. :) I want this little guy to be happy and healthy. I got my new visiting teaching assignment, so that is great for me to give me something wonderful to do with my time. :) And now...some pictures. :)

A quick sample of Joanna's Cuteness. :)

More activity...

The other night for our date, we got take-out from Pepperbellie's Restaurant, and went to the park. We watched Homeward Bound together, and I made homemade clay. With the homemade clay, I decided it would be fun to celebrate the coming of our new little one, and attempt to make our own version of a famous Willow Tree figure. :) It was an amature effort, but I think we did pretty good, and it was a spousal building activity--something we will hopefully always remember. We baked it in the oven to "cure" it--the sad part was that it smelled similar to fresh homemade bread, and I really wanted some to eat--but it was just our Craft cooking. :) Oh well. It was something different, and I still plan to paint it when I get around to it. :)

What we've been up to... :)

Well, this summer has been quite fabulous. Here is a random list of things we have been up to. -Family Reunions
-Cove fort Pioneer History Adventure, tour, free hot dogs, you know...
-Mom made a pie for Dad one night to rekindle the flame. :) I dressed up in my wedding dress for him when he got home that night at like 1:00 in the morning or so. That was fun! :) A little weird trying to get my contacts in after maybe a couple hours of sleep, but it was worth it.
-Bountiful baskets! I went to help volunteer one time, and they gave us extra blueberries! So I made muffins that turned out really yummy. :) Let me know if you ever want the recipe from Allrecipes.com. :)
-Joanna is so silly, and loves to talk, and play.
-Nephi is still training for his marathon in September.
Well...that's about enough randomness I suppose. I'll post some more pictures! :)
-Oh, one more thing, the baby is growing well. :) I am SO excited to meet him!

AND....More pictures...

Fourth of July in Good 'Ol Richfield and other fun Pictures!

So, the Fourth of July is quite the adventure here in Richfield...it kinda feels like you are under seige the whole week--lots of blasting going on at night. :) No, but it was really exciting and tiering all at once! We were in the Children's Parade Tuesday night--then on Wednesday morning, Nephi ran in the Liberty 5K and took 13th overall, and 3rd place in his age division!! He's so talented. :)
After the parade we got Popsicles and I signed Jos up for the Diaper Derby. Boy was that exciting! They have different lanes and heats, and whoever can walk past the line first wins, and they win a savings Bond...that they get when they're older I guess. Anyways, Joanna didn't quite know what was going on, but I'm glad we got to be there nonetheless. :) She looked so cute with her ribbons in her hair.
Joanna liked picking up candy and ping pong balls from the parade...after that, we went home for a recovery nap! :) I was beat! All that heat and an early start...
Then around 4:00 we went to see the community play on Liberty! It was very well done, even had a LOVE story in it! The theatre/stage here is really nice. It was inspiring, and made you feel grateful for the freedoms we have, and reminded us we need to teach our children of liberty and freedom-and to trust in God! For He is the one who grants us freedom!
After the play, we got a nice big cheesy 5buck pizza, and breadsticks to bring home with us. That was nice!

Sweet Jos-bear did SO WELL in nursery yesterday! They only came and got me to change her stinky diaper. :) But that was the only issue. That's no prob! We can handle that! It was such a blessing. I took her in there and she was just playing so I slipped away--and it went over beautifully! I did have to peak through the window and go in once to see how she was doing... it's hard to let go at first kind of, but it was liberating! I think she really liked it--especially the vanilla wafers and crackers. :)
Joanna loves the in-s and out's hug! She loves going outside, and she loves taking baths. :)
She is talking so well, today she told me, "juice"--and she is starting to learn some words in "I am a child of God." Repetition is so key in teaching children! It's so fun to see what her sweet little brain picks up!

First Day of Nursery with Mom

Nursery was quite the adventure! The leaders were so sweet to let us come a bit early. Joanna loved the treats, and the toys...and even folded her arms at one point. :) There were almost twenty little kids in there, so it was quite daunting for both of us I think, but we'll probably keep trying. :)

Father's Day Breakfast Surprises :)
